The High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa, His Excellency Benjamin Anani Quashie, joined a 29-member delegation from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) at the Waterkloof Guest House for a debriefing session following the successful completion of their one-week study tour in South Africa.
Led by the Commandant of GAFCSC, Brigadier-General B. Kwao-Adotey, the delegation comprised other staff and students drawn from six African countries, including Ghana, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Niger, and Tanzania, who participated in the 2026 GAFCSC Africa Study tour. The Defence Advisor at the Ghana High Commission in Pretoria was in attendance.
Under the theme “Africa’s Defence Industrial Base: Progress and Constraints,” the study tour provided the delegation with the opportunity to visit various military bases and industrial facilities across South Africa. The engagements were aimed at examining industry standards and assessing the progress Ghana has made within the defence and security sector.
In his remarks, High Commissioner Quashie commended the delegation for selecting South Africa as the destination for the study tour, noting that their presence in the country offered them valuable insights into the recent developments in South Africa from both defence and security perspectives, while also strengthening professional cooperation and regional collaboration within the African continent.
