Celebration of the 69th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Ghana in South Africa

On the occasion of the 69th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Ghana, the High Commission of Ghana in Pretoria hosted a reception at its Chancery on 6th March, 2026. In attendance at the event was Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour, with an entourage of Chiefs in a display of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage. The event was a sight to behold, attracting numerous guests, including government officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Captains of Business and Industry, and members of the Ghanaian Community. We were also priviledged to have the South African Government represented by Honourable Stella Tembisa Ndabeni, Minister of Small Business Development.

The celebration not only highlighted our shared values and history but also reinforced the bonds of friendship and collaboration between Ghana and South Africa
