An eleven-member delegation from the Ewe Community in South Africa, led by its Chairman, Dr Kotoka, and Togbe Kumadeka IV, Chairman of the Council of Elders for the group, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Benjamin Anani Quashie, High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa, to congratulate him on his recent appointment and to wish him well for a successful tenure.
During the visit, the delegation expressed their gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for appointing one of their own to the esteemed position of High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa. They acknowledged the benevolent interventions made by High Commissioner Quashie as a distinguished member of the community, particularly in support of Ghanaians in distress. The delegation affirmed that His Excellency the President had recognised a deserving individual within the Ghanaian Community.
The members of the Ewe Community expressed their belief that High Commissioner Quashie, with his understanding of their challenges, would effectively represent their interests. They expressed their readiness to assist him in realising his aspirations for the Ghanaian community. On the part of the High Commissioner, he expressed his appreciation for the kind words and assured the delegation he would be serving the Ghanaian people in South Africa with respect.
The meeting ended with a photo session, symbolising their commitment to support the High Commissioner.
