A ten-member delegation, led by Mr Andani Nuhu Baba, represented the Muslim Community in South Africa during a courtesy visit to His Excellency Benjamin Anani Quashie, the High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa. The purpose of the visit was to extend hearty congratulations to the High Commissioner on his recent appointment and to express their gratitude for the respect and esteem he had shown towards the Muslim community over the years.

The delegation acknowledged the High Commissioner’s unwavering support for the community, emphasising the significance of his efforts, even in the context of his Christian faith. They reaffirmed their commitment to assisting him in achieving his mandate.

In his response, High Commissioner Quashie expressed heartfelt appreciation for the delegation’s visit. He then recounted his meaningful experiences with the Muslim Community during his youthful days, highlighting how these interactions influenced his spiritual journey, particularly regarding the practice of fasting as a Christian. The meeting emphasised the vital role of interfaith dialogue and mutual respect in fostering unity.
