High Commissioner Quashie Joins Ghanaian Churches In Pretoria To Welcome 2026

On the eve of 31st December 2025, His Excellency Benjamin Anani Quashie, the High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa, joined seven Ghanaian churches in Pretoria, including the Christ Apostolic Church International, the Church of Pentecost, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, True Teaching Healing Ministry and Praise House Ministry, among others, to usher in the Year 2026.

In a spirit of celebration, High Commissioner Quashie reaffirmed his commitment to representing the best interests of the community. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support of the Ghanaian community and the continuous prayers offered by the churches, highlighting the community’s positive contributions. He praised the conduct of the Ghanaian community as commendable immigrants, noting that their behaviour had garnered respect from host authorities and fostered a profound sense of pride.

The High Commissioner also addressed ongoing challenges related to documentation in his remarks. He advocated for a more comprehensive visa regime and reported that efforts were underway to advance this proposal.

Emphasising the importance of accurate data, he urged the community to participate in the upcoming registration of Ghanaians in South Africa and neighbouring countries. He also called on members to adhere to the laws of host countries and encouraged the churches to bear President John Dramani Mahama and his appointees in their prayers.
