On 19th February 2026, the Ghana High Commission in South Africa, in collaboration with the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce, successfully organised a one-day Investment Sensitisation Workshop under the theme “Doing Business in Ghana.” Held in the Conference Room of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce, the event underscored Ghana’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for business and investment.
In his opening remarks to members of the South African Business Community, Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, H.E. Benjamin Quashie, reaffirmed Ghana’s renewed economic strength and macroeconomic stability following the implementation of decisive fiscal reforms. He highlighted Ghana’s progress in debt restructuring, the anticipated early exit from the IMF programme, and the establishment of a strengthened legal and regulatory framework designed to protect investors and promote sustainable returns.
The High Commissioner also drew attention to the trade imbalance between the two countries and called for enhanced collaboration through joint ventures, expanded Ghanaian exports, and improved trade facilitation.
The interactive workshop provided a platform for dialogue on investment guarantees, regulatory reforms, and partnership opportunities, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to creating a stable, predictable, and mutually beneficial business environment. This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts of the Ghana High Commission to enhance international partnerships and attract investment, thereby supporting Ghana’s economic growth and development objectives.
