High Commissioner Quashie Receives Namibian Ambassador to South Africa At His Office During a Courtesy Call.

On 29th Janaury, 2026, His Excellency Benjamin Anani Quashie, High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa, received Namibia’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Her Excellency Nangula Frieda Ithete, at the former’s office in Pretoria. During their interaction, they reflected on Ghana’s pivotal role in the liberation struggle, which inspired other African countries, including Namibia, in their quest for independence.

Particular emphasis was placed on the substantial support that Ghana extended to Namibian liberation movements, especially the South West Africa People’s Organisation (SWAPO), while addressing the challenges posed by apartheid and colonial rule. Drawing on cordial relations between the two countries, they agreed to forge closer ties in addressing issues of mutual interest.
