On 19th February 2026, Mr. Larry Opare-Otoo, Official Consultant of the Parliament of Ghana for the Democracy Cup Match Project, together with Mr. Tsepo Riba, a South African Football Consultant, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Benjamin Anani Quashie, High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa, during the former’s working visit to South Africa.
The purpose of the visit was to apprise the High Commissioner about the plans of the Rt. Honourable Speaker of Parliament, towards the widely supported Democracy Cup Football Match Initiative.
In response, His Excellency Benjamin Anani Quashie expressed his appreciation for the visit and assured Messrs. Opare-Otoo and Riba of the Mission’s support for the Rt. Honourable Speaker’s commendable initiative to leverage football as a means of promoting and enhancing democracy across the continent.
